Translingo offers total flexibility in how you translate your store. You can choose between our cost-effective built-in engine or connect your own professional translation accounts.
You Own Your Translations
Translingo writes all translations directly into your Shopify store's database. This means you are never "locked in" to our platform. If you ever decide to uninstall the app, your translations remain safely stored in Shopify and will continue to be visible to your customers.
1. Using the Built-In Engine
Every paid Translingo plan includes a set amount of free translation characters per month. This is the easiest way to start translating immediately without setting up external accounts. If you exceed your plan's limit, you can purchase additional character top-ups as needed.
2. Connecting External Providers (DeepL & Google Translate)
For high-volume stores, you can connect your own API key from providers like DeepL or Google Translate.
Pay at Cost: You pay the provider directly for what you use. We never mark up the price of your translations.
Unlimited Bulk Translation: On any paid Translingo plan, there are no app-imposed limits on how many characters you can bulk translate when using your own API key.
How it works:
Sign up for an account at DeepL or Google Cloud.
Generate an API Key in their dashboard.
Paste the key into Translingo.
Our app now acts as a bridge, sending your content to the provider and placing the translated text back into your Shopify store.
For step-by-step instructions on where to find your keys, you can find detailed setup guides on the "Integrations" page within the app.
