How to Enable and Customize the Language Selector

If your Shopify theme doesn't have a built-in language switcher, Translingo provides a customizable floating selector so your customers can easily find their preferred language.

How to enable the selector:

  1. Open Shopify Theme Editor: Go to Online Store > Themes in your Shopify Admin and click "Customize" on your active theme.

  2. Access App Embeds: In the left-hand sidebar, click the "App embeds" icon (the small block icon).

  3. Activate Translingo: Find the "Language Selector" toggle for Translingo and switch it ON.

How to customize the look:
Once enabled, you can adjust the following settings directly in the sidebar to match your store’s design:

  • Alignment: Position the selector at the Top, Bottom, Left, or Right of the screen.

  • Border Radius: Make the corners square or rounded.

  • Spacing: Use the Vertical and Horizontal space sliders to adjust the distance from the edge of the screen.

Pro-Tip: The selector will only display languages that are currently "Published" in your Shopify settings. If a language isn't appearing, check its status in the Shopify Language Settings.
