1. Adding Languages
Decide which markets you want to reach and which languages to add. On the “Languages” page, click "Manage languages" in the top-right corner to add them to your Shopify store.

2. Choose Your Translation Method
Translingo offers two ways to translate your content. Go to the "Integrations" page to configure your preference:

  • Built-in Engine: Start immediately using your plan's included character balance. No extra setup required.

  • External Providers: Connect your own DeepL or Google Translate API key for unlimited bulk translation at cost. Use the step-by-step guides on the Integrations page for a quick setup. [Learn more about Engine options]

3. Configure Language Engines
You can specify which engine translates each language, giving you maximum flexibility. On the “Languages” page, click the Gear Icon next to a language to select your preferred provider.

Note: Only providers that support your target language will be visible.

4. Start Translating

  • Manual Translation: Click "Edit translations" on the Languages page to translate specific resources on your store, like products or collections. [View Manual Guide]

  • Bulk Translation: To translate your entire store at once, go to the "Bulk translation" page and click "New task." Translingo will process your content using your configured engine. [How to create your first task]

5. Publish and Display
New languages are hidden from customers by default. When you are ready, go to "Manage languages" to publish them. [Important: How languages connect to Shopify Markets]

To help customers switch between languages, ensure your theme's language selector is active. If your theme doesn't have one, enable the Translingo Language Selector in your Shopify Theme Editor under "App embeds". [Detailed Selector Setup]
