Will Translingo slow down my store?
No. Translingo works in the background and stores translations directly in Shopify's database. It doesn't load heavy scripts on your storefront, ensuring your page speed remains fast.What happens if I uninstall the app?
Your translations stay! Because we write the data directly into Shopify, your translated content remains in your store even if you remove the app.
Translation & Usage
Can I use different engines for different languages?
Yes. You can choose a different provider (ALMA, DeepL, or Google) for each language in your settings for maximum flexibility and cost control.Does the app translate the checkout page?
Yes. Translingo translates the checkout content that Shopify allows. Since we use Shopify’s native system, your checkout will automatically match the customer's selected language.How often does Auto-update run?
Our system scans for new or updated content every 24 hours. New products or edits will be translated at 02:00 AM UTC.Can I translate an unpublished theme?
Currently, Translingo only supports the translation of your live (published) theme. However, we know this is a high-priority feature for merchants preparing new store designs. This feature is currently in review—if this is important for your workflow, please upvote it on our roadmap to help us prioritize its release!
Billing & Plans
Why am I getting two different invoices?
Your Translingo subscription is billed through Shopify. If you use an external provider (DeepL or Google), you pay them directly for your API usage. This "pay-at-cost" model ensures you never pay an app markup on your words.What happens if I run out of characters on the built-in engine?
Translation tasks will pause until you either top up your balance or your monthly allowance resets. You can buy "non-expiring" character packages on the Integrations page at any time.

Is my API key safe?
Absolutely. Your keys are encrypted using industry-standard SHA256 encryption. Once entered, they are hidden from everyone, including us.Do I need to be a developer to use an API key?
No. While setting up a Google Cloud or DeepL account involves a few steps, we provide a step-by-step guide on the Integrations page that anyone can follow.
