How to Translate Your Entire Store in Bulk

Bulk Translation allows you to translate thousands of items, from product descriptions to email templates, in just a few clicks. This is the fastest way to launch a new language.

How to create a Bulk Translation Task:

  1. Open Tasks: Go to the "Bulk translation" page in the main menu and click "Create task" in the top-right corner.

  2. Name Your Task (Optional): Give your task a name (e.g., "Full Store Launch" or "New Summer Collection") to help you track your history later.

  3. Select Resources: Choose exactly what you want to translate. You can select everything or pick specific areas like Products, Metafields, or Email Templates.

  4. Choose Target Languages: Select one or more languages you want to translate into.

    • Note: Each language will use the engine (Built-in, DeepL, or Google) that you configured on the "Languages" page.

  5. Configure Overwrite Options:

    • Overwrite outdated translations: Replaces only the translations where the original text has changed since the last update.

    • Overwrite up-to-date translations: Replaces everything, including existing accurate translations (useful if you’ve switched translation engines).

  6. Launch: Click "Start task." You can monitor the progress in on the Tasks dashboard.

Important Note on Character Usage:
Before starting a large task, ensure you have enough character balance (if using the built-in engine) or that your external provider's API key is active. You can see the final character count of completed tasks in your task history.
